New Hampshire author Erica Plouffe Lazure was born and raised in Massachusetts, but she has a particular fondness for the South - and for story-telling in the Southern tradition. In her award-winning collection Proof of Me - & Other Stories, she's created a fictitious town in North Carolina called Mewborn in order to tell the the stories of its inhabitants.
