South Florida born, New York based author Elana Marcus is our guest on this episode. She tells us about the personal history she drew from in order to write her award-winning short story "Next of Kin." Using a second-person narrative, it recounts how the sudden passing of a man who was fiancé, stepfather, father, brother, son and ex-husband to the surviving members of his family has brought the internal tensions of the family to the surface. They've gathered at his home in search of answers. Some are there to mourn him, while others appear to be more interested in what will become of his assets.
